I am NOT featured on The Onion

I repeat, I am NOT featured in an accompanying photo for a recent Onion article about a 26-year old guy lamenting the fact that he’ll be seeing former high school classmates in his hometown during the Thanksgiving holiday, though that does sound familiar.

Though I can see where people are drawing comparisons I don’t think I’m as chubby as that guy, nor do I have any regrettable piercings or own any silly looking hoodies.

That is all.

Over at FLOG, Eric Reynolds announces that Lilli Carré will have a 32-page full color story in MOME Vol. 14 called “The Carnival,” as well as the cover.

Sammy Harkham’s store, Family, in L.A., hosted a signing for Kramers Ergot 7 this past Sunday, with many of the contributing cartoonists in attendance.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the country, Desert Island in Brooklyn hosted a release party for Rafael Grampá’s Mesmo Delivery. Rafael came all the way from Brazil to hang out with folks.

Jeff Lemire Gets Real

Jeff Lemire, the cartoonist behind the acclaimed Essex Country Trilogy (Tales From The Farm, Ghost Stories and The Country Nurse), reposts his guest entry from a Portland bookstore blog giving a look into the real Essex County his books were based on.

All of my stories start with the setting, and even more than that, location totally informs how my characters and plots grow and take shape. The Essex County books (Tales From The Farm, Ghost Stories, The Country Nurse), all started when I decided to do a book set in the tiny Canadian farming town where I grew up.
